| It was way cheaper then anything else I have bought to play my music on my iPhone 3gs, and you can take calls thru your speakers.. Total plus!! Sound is fabulous and love everything about it! |

I've been using the Griffin iTrip for sometime to listen to music on my 3Gs iPhone in my 2002 Xterra. For handsfree phone operation I had to use Bluetooth on my Garmin Nuvi 650, which works OK but its microphone and internal speaker are quite weak. And even though the Nuvi has a (rather mediocre) MP3 player built-in, its FM Transmitter is so bad that it really can't be used to listen to music anyway.
This Satechi unit has everything I need for handsfree calling and music streaming. The sound quality is very good; way better than the Griffin (4 to 2, IMO). It also has a line-in, so I can play non-bluetooth devices on it as well, e.g. a DVD player. It is compact and has a line out, which means it can be connected directly to a head unit that has an Aux port; this will be very handy when we travel, as most rental cars nowadays have Aux in on their radios. (BTW, the unit does come with a short, coiled 3.5mm audio patch cord, very handy.)
I have tested with both an iPod Touch and an iPhone 3Gs. The pairing worked right off the bat. While streaming music from the iPhone, as soon as I turn off the car (which shuts off the Satechi) the iPod app also stops playing instead of switching to its internal speakers and keep going. How nice!
Enhancements: the blue light no longer blinks annoyingly as reported in earlier reviews, and you CAN charge your device while Bluetooth is On.
On the downside, the Satechi can only go as low as 88.1 FM, whereas the Griffin can go down to 87.9. Also, because it's an FM transmitter (not a wired modulator), you still get some static if you turn the volume up high. But for normal listening it is surprisingly quiet.
I only wish Satechi had integrated this device with its iPod holder/charger. As it is, it has taken up a valuable 12V holder spot in my car, forcing me to have to come up with some other way to have my iPhone mounted without using suction cups. Hence only 4 stars. |

| I have had limited luck with plug-in radio transmitters for playing music from my ipod or iphone through my car stereo. Finally, I found this -- the magic device. Music plays beautifully -- no static at all -- you wouldn't realize that it's not a CD. Granted, I am not an audiophile, but I do tell a pronounced difference from the last Monster Cable transmitter I had. And on top of everything, it's bluetooth, so there are no annoying wires AND it does phone calls through the stereo, as well. I haven't made that many calls yet, but so far the sound quality seems great for both parties on the line. I totally recommend this. |

| So far I'm impressed with this gadget. Its small so I have it stored in my armrest where there is an extra cigarette lighter so its out of sight. Setting it up was easy breezy. As for use and clarity, I havent gotten that much road time with it but from the test calls I've made - I think it sounds pretty good. |
