The Bluetooth Hands Free Fm Transmitter provides a live full duplex communication solution. It uses Bluetooth technology through FM transmission to your FM car radio. This unit allows you to speak to callers through a built-in DSP microphone (it turns your car stereo into a Giant Bluetooth Headset). All of this is accomplished hassle free without the use of external wires, or expensive custom installation. The device is pairable with any phone equipped with Bluetooth hands-free and stereo A2DP function. Bluetooth A2DP technology enables wireless transmission of music from your iPhone 3Gs and 3G (OS 3.0 Software Update required). • Compatibility: iPhone 3Gs & 3G (OS 3.0 Software Update required) and all Bluetooth enabled phones for wireless audio streaming and hands-free calling
  • Live, full duplex communication solution: speak and listen at the same time - DSP (Digital Signal Processing) to cancel echo and reduce ambient noise.

  • Line out: Allows for direct connection from the device to the Aux port in your car without the need of Fm Transmission.

Great sound quality

I had a PodFreq Mini that I used with my Mini & Nano, I think this may sound even better.

Drove from Vegas to Disneyland & back a couple of weeks ago, was awesome to be able to just plug it into the cigarette lighter & crank tunes all the way.

Had thought of getting a new radio for my car, but it's a goofy size so anything I'd get would stick out at LEAST an inch. Looked around here for an FM Transmitter with good reviews, this one seemed to have the best so I gave it a shot.

Am glad I did, like I said I think it's even better than my PodFreq that I'd used for several years.
Great concept, poor implementation

I liked the idea of this product, and it worked pretty well -- for a week.

It literally came apart in my hand when I tried to pull the unit from my DC power outlet [VW Jetta, not a tricky location]. The plastic casing is pretty easy to pull apart, the red wire pulled off the circuit board. I'm not a big guy and there was no abuse, just a simple pull and a surprise.

I called Satechi's customer service line, a very nice woman instructed me to send an email to "Sales" and give my order info and a brief explanation of what happened.

I did. Nothing. This was months ago.

So, a great idea but cheesy construction and a disconnect in service.

I bought a newer edition Transdock for iphone instead and dropped back to my bluetooth headset. :(
Works. Great reception. NO walk over from stations....

Bought this to replace my monster fm transmitter. I've never been happy with that item.
I have always had frequent poor reception from the monster transmitter. I read a review on a different website of this item from Satechi. It was a strong review, so I thought I would give it a try. I have an older vehicle with no auxiliary input. This item is primarily used to listen to music during my commute to work in the morning and evening. I have an iPhone 3gs. I stream music to the radio...it's crystal clear with NO walkover...

Bonus! The item is a car kit for your cell phone. I am able to answer the call, hear the caller clearly through the radio, and they are able to hear me just fine. Sounds to them like I am on a speaker phone...but hey, I am when using this!

I had no problem syncing this item with my phone....

Highly recommend the product...
Best FM Transmitter I've owned

This thing works very well. As I write this review I see that it is no longer available, which is a shame. By far the best FM Transmitter I've used (I've had 4 so far). The sound quality is very good, and very little distortion. The only sound distortion I can hear is with female singers and sharp "s" sounds. The Bluetooth was easy to setup and is a very nice feature. Definitely recommend this product to anyone.
