I was torn between the small plug in batteries for the iPhone and this one, which is roughly 90% the size of my iPhone. I am glad I got this one. Not only does it charge quickly (50% - 1005 in about 20 minutes), but the capacity is amazing. The device provides an instant readout of its capacity (1 - 5 blue lights). I charged my iPhone from 50% in 20 minutes and it still showed 5 lights. I charged a fully discharged iPhone to 100% and this device still registered 4 lights.
Bottom line is that this backup can recharge your iPhone (and other USB devices (need to get the adapter cables!) multiple times on one charge.
I am at an airport sucking up 3Gs on my iPhone, get on plane and let this puppy recharge.....get to my destination, fully charged and STILL have 4 lights left.
A serious backup for serious iPhone users.
Update 3/12/10
I no longer can recommend this device. The blue light readout panel indicated a full charge (5 lights). So I took it with me on the road. I only got a battery boost on my iPhone from 20% to about 80% and the device was out of juice.
If you can't trust what the indicator lights are telling you, the product loses its value to me pretty quick.
Furthermore, I did a test. Charged this device to the max. iPhone down to 20%. The device charged the phone to max after about 1 hour. Ran the iPhone down to 20 again. Now the device only charged to 50% and quit.
Before you buy, check out some other products that reviewers claim 2-3 full charges, not the 1.25 that this device gets. Disappointing... |

| Well built, small size, long battery life. Perfect travel companion for the iPhone. First few charges are a little short but increase after a few cycles. I can fully charge my iPhone 3G 3-1/2 times on one charge. |

| This is definitely a five-star product. Light and small (slightly smaller than an iPod Touch in height and length, slighly larger in width). Internal battery charges quickly, and it charges my iPod Touch quickly (from 20% to 100% in less than an hour). I'm able to charge my iPod Touch, from about 20% to 100%, five times when the pack is fully charged. Solidly built, simple to use - just plug it in. I use the WiFi on my iPod Touch a lot, and I've gotten to the point where I just carry this battery pack around with me all the time, it's that convenient. Definitely recommended. |
